Hi, I completely agree that the commercial sites are entitled to their restrictive terms. Compared to the money I've paid, in those distant days before the internet, for 'wrong' BMD certificates, subscriptions to a pay-to-view site are a bargain. Compared to the understandably slow progress of FreeCEN and FreeREG, pay-to-view sites are my best chance of concluding my research before I become a statistic myself. However, they're not the only source for our information, so asking for a look-up is perfectly acceptable and encompasses the spirit of sharing that has always been part of this hobby; it's the provider of the information who has to decide whether they're acting correctly.
