    1. [WRY] WHITEHEAD, Robert William
    2. Megan Skinner
    3. I am looking for information on the family of Robert William Whitehead. He married my great Aunt, Jeanie (Jennie) Skinner, 24 February 1884 at Healey (Christ Church) Lancashire. This family was possibly living in Huddersfield when the 1911 census was taken. Jennie's brother, John Skinner, immigrated to Canada in 1913. The family story was that his sister was living close to him then. The 1911 Census has John living at Brighouse. I would like to know if Robert & Jeanie had a family and Robert's parents. If so, are there any living relatives? I am planning a trip to England in 2013 and want to gather as much info as possible. I will be visiting the known places the Skinner family lived. I am also hoping to locate the graves of John's & Jeanie's parents, Andrew & Jane. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Megan

    3. I have just realised I didn't add the link to the online ordering page for LDS films in my earlier message. Here it is below. https://www.familysearch.org/films/customer/account/login/ Regards Jenny DeAngelis <<Go to this Online Film Ordering page below, you will find you need to register so that you can then place your order, so do that and you will be able to put in the relevant film number from the 4 films available. 2. Jenny De Angelis
    3. Unfotunately Hugh Wallis's site has not been updated for several years and it is possible that some newer batch numbers do not appear on his site. In the details you have been given from the IGI you should, hopefully, have the Source Film Number 1542103. with that number you can go to the home page of the family search site, click on the tab at the top of the page, Search Records and from the drop down list select Library Catalog. Now select from the list of options, Film/Fiche Search and in the box that comes up on the next page put that Source Film Number and search It will come up with the result of parish Registers for St John's Church Wakefield, 1795-1938. Click on that title, which is in blue, and it will take you forward to a page of details about that film. In the top right corner of that page you will see View film Notes, if you click there you will get a page of those details which you can print out. You will see that there are 4 various films available for these parish registers. Select the one that most suits your needs. You can order a copy of the film to be sent to your nearest LDS centre so that when it arrives there you can make an appointment to go to that centre and view your film on the readers there. You can order films on line these days via the familysearch website. Go to this Online Film Ordering page below, you will find you need to register so that you can then place your order, so do that and you will be able to put in the relevant film number from the 4 films available. Now you can proceed to order the film. Use the Ordering Help link at the top of the page if necessary I am not sure if all LDS centres around the world are capable of dealing with online film order as yet but I am sure you will be advised of this. If your nearest LDS centre can't deal with such an order then go to that centre in person with the film details and place your order there. They will contact you when your film arrives. There is a small hire fee but it well worth it as you may find more than the one entry of marriage to interest you on the film. You can find the address of your nearest LDS centre by going to the home page of familysearch.org where you can search for your area to see which centres are available and the contact details. Remember though that these centres are run by volunteers and if you telephone there may be nobody there to take your call so do phone at varying times of day and varying days of the week. the opening times given for a centre might also have changed if the volunteer changes. But don't give up trying to contact the centre you will benefit by your perseverance eventually. Regards Jenny DeAngelis ________________________________ Thanks for the suggestion Maggie, I had already checked on Hugh's site. I had a list of I think of 18 Batch Numbers for All Saints and St John's, Wakefield. The new IGI site now has a numbers with no letter prefix, and they dont compare to the original ones. Was trying to incorporate all the new STEAD information, into my Wakefield BMD/s, but not sure of some of the churches now. Pat in Grimsby, Lincs
