Hi Listers, I am trying, without much luck at the moment, to prove a connection between two sets of ELLIS families in Yorkshire. My 4x great grandfather, William Bernard ( or Barnard ) ELLIS was born in Leeds in December 1794. According to the IGI he was baptized a Methodist at Long Marston to parents Richard ELLIS and Ann (no surname) . In the IGI marriages I have found one Richard ELLIS and Ann CARTER married in April 1794 at Long Marston, but no mention of them being Methodist. There is another Richard ELLIS baptized in the same year at South Kirkby Yorkshire Is there anyone out there who has access to the All Saints Long Marston Parish Registers that could with the name of the father of Richard ELLIS which may help me progress further? J Darcy appears on the 1851 census in Woolwich Hulks or prison. He was living with his family in Leeds Yorkshire on the 1841 census so maybe that is where he carried out with his crimes.
