    3. Thank you so very much for all this information Mabel. I am determined to get hold of a copy of this marriage bond and allegation now as it could answer several questions for me. I have had several ancestors married by licence, and had not appreciated how much information could be obtained from them. I guess the archives at York would be the correct place to contact? The date of the application (the one I'm loking at is dated 29th June 1737) - which could be 1 day or a few months before the actual ceremony - and the name of the Church where the ceremony is likely to take place. 3. I am searching for Henry HINCHLIFFE, born abt 1826, Hepworth according to the 1851 census. Henry married Martha BRADLEY Nov. 19, 1848. I have the marriage certificate. Henry's father is Henry (Farmer) and Martha's father is William (Wool Sorter). Henry is listed as a mechanic. I have Henry and Martha in the 1851 census. Then they emigrated to the US about 1855. I found Martha and the children's passage in 1855 but I have not been able to find Henry's. I am looking for Henry's parents and siblings. Henry would be my gr gr grandfather. Thank you, Barbara

In 1891 he is living at the family home with his father George and several siblings, still in Pontefract and his Mother has died. In 1901 I can find no trace of him and the Father George is living alone in Armley, Yorkshire. The next time I can find him is 1905 when he marries Rosa Jane Spendiff in Dover in Kent and is shown as a Musician. However at this point he is under the name of HARRY CRAVEN, although all the other information confirms that it is the same man. I have searched under Harry and Henry in Yorkshire and Kent and also with a CRA*. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
