Kamra, Thanks for the tip on the Ellis manuscript. Tomorrow I have to call them and try and order a book ... email isn't working well between us ... so I'll ask about that as well. I wrote the Eastport, ME City Clerk (or whatever title) for information concerning the West family. They send a photocopy of a record without identifying it's source. What I have is page 60 with Elijah M. West as a heading. Under births is written "Elijah M. west born June 1854"; "Anna L. Gough born in Eastport, Oct 19, 1860"; "They were married in Eastport, March 9, 1879"; "(Issues) Minnie M. born in E. March 13, 1880"; "Beatrice born in E. Sept. 19, 1882". No death information is recorded. Further down is information concerning one William F. Gilligan. They also copied page 42 for me . . . William West Births: William West, born in Hilsboro, NS Dec 5, 1855 Kate Brown, born in Pennfield, NB Apr 24, 1853 There were married in Eastport March 11, 1876 Issue: John Nelson, born in Calais ME June 24,1876 Mary, born in Eastport March 14, 1878 Jennie Maud born in Eastport Febry 18, 1883 Elmer E. born in Eastport July 9, 1891, Died in E. Hi Allen: I was asking about your earlier Elijah, son of Captain Stephen West ....the one who married Esther Loomer. you have his birthplace as Bozrah, CT. Do you have documentation or a birth or baptismal record for him? His older sister Rebecca was probably born in the same place, after the family left Massachusetts and before they arrived in Nova Scotia [abt. 1770/72].
