Hello Everyone, I am a newbie to the list and thought that I would share some of my information that I have about the West's. I am from the Owen West lineage. This is information on some of his family. Owen West was a pioneer family on Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas, where he raised his family. West of Morrilton was a Tuesday guest of his daughter, Mrs. J.L. Carlock. Vol. 33 - Tuesday - February 11, 1930 - No. 89 - Page 5: Cedar Creek Cove # We were sorry to hear of the death of Aunt Bettie Hale. She has lived on Petit Jean Mt. for so long and the last few years she has lived at McCrory with her son. She is survived by a sister, Aunt Rhoda West of Petit Jean Mt., five sons and three daughters. Vol. 34 - Friday - February 21, 1930 - No. 1 - Page 4; Death calls Pioneer Petit Jean Woman. Mrs. Eugenia West, aged 71, died at her home on Petit Jean Mt. at 12:15 Thursday morning. Mrs. West is one of the oldest families in Conway Co. She is survived by her husband, Elisha West, and five sons, Irving and Elzie West of Casa, Novie West of Adona, Alvin West of Watson, Ollin West of Byers, Colo., and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Barnes of England. Burial will be in the Petit Jean Mt. Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Olen West of Colorado; Alvin West and Irvin West of Casa, and three daughters; Mrs. Elzie Robertson, Casa; Mrs. Novie Pierceon, Alpin, and Mrs. Emma Jean Barnes, England. Mrs. Tempey West, aged 71, a pioneer citizen of Petit Jean Mt. died at her mountain home Friday morning at 10:45. Mrs. West is survived by her huspand, Ephram West, three sons, Carl and Luther West of Morrilton and Tom West of Little Rock; two daughters, Miss Nora West of Little Rock and Miss Lewenia West of Petit Jean Mt. Mrs. West was the daughter of John Morgan a pioneer family and was born on Rose Creek. Her entire married life of 51 years was spent at the place where she died. The funeral servises were held at the Petit Jean Cemetery, Saturday. Rev W.A. West of Petit Jean Mt. officicating. Ben Hanna, local undertaker, was in charge of the funeral. The children present were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin West and children of Watson, Arkansas, Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Barnes and children of England, Arkansas, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Pearson and children of Belleview, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Robertson and son Verda, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin West and children. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Will Story ans son Berl and daughter Cecilia, of Ada; Kenneth West of Adona; Mrs. Margaret Pearson of Belleview; Mrs. Elvira Bryant and children; Mrs. S.M. Vol. 34 - Tuesday- July 29, 1930- No. 46 - Page 6: Obituary. Mrs. T.M. Mason. Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon at 4:30 for Mrs. T.M. Mason, aged 57, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.B. Hendrix, in Little Rock, Sunday afternoon at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev S.J. Patterson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, was in charge of the funeral. Mrs. Mason was the widow of the late T.M. Mason and was a former citizen of Morrilton. She was born on Petit Jean Mt. of a pioneer family. She was a member of the Presbyterian church for 25 years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E.B. Hendrix of Little Rock; two sons Dixon Mason of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and John Mason of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. West of Petit Jean Mt., six brothers, N. E., A. D., Floyd and Lloyd West of Morrilton and W. A. West of Casa; five sisters, Mrs. Lydia Reed and Mrs. J. M. Newman of Oklahoma; Mrs. Fatha Jackson and Ina Upchurch of Morrilton. The body was brought from Little Rock, Monday afternoon. Ben Hanna, local undertaker, was in charge of funeral arrangements upon arrival.
