Alice, There was an Abner West connected to my line of West's, who was said to have gone to South Carolina from Mass. He was born April 13, 1759. Do you think your Silas was descended from him? Abner's father was Elisha West. Elisha had a brother, Silas West, who is my 7th great grandfather. There were several Silas Wests connected.
