Help, Please anybody. Does anyone know if there was a WEST book written about the West of all races who settled in Westbrook township, Blackmans Mill, Sampson County, NC. I am trying to find out where the West ancestors migrated from before going to NC, GA, TN, etc.I am specifically interested in the White, Mulatto and Native Americans. My g grandfather, Silas West b. 1832 m. Winifred "Winnie" Barefoot b. 1845. She was the dau. of Clarkey Barefoot b. 1812. Dau of Noah Barefoot. I am trying to find the parents of Silas West and would like to know if he had brothers and sisters or next of kin. Silas and Winnie live is a community called "THE PINEY," near Rosin Hill on RTE 13. Thanks very much. Note: I purchased the Sampson County Genealogy book from Sampson County a few years back Alice West Ferguson
I don't know of a West Book, but I have heard that there is a book written about the Gatewood family that includes many Wests... I have never found the book, but if any one should and can connect to the West families I would love to hear from you. It is my understanding that this includes West families from VA, NC & SC. Hi Judy, There is a book in deed about the Wests from NC. I believe its by Lethia Brock. Thats as close as I can get. It's mentioned several times in info on the Wests I believe on Gen Forum.Put in John or Jonathan West and it should give you something.I have seen it in the library in KC Mo. But only glanced through as it isn't my Wests.Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Mary
