    3. Hi to all; I hope someone out there has heard of either of these WEST families. We have two different WEST families in our family and they are not related. They each married into our family through different sides of the family tree.I'm going to put all we know about each one. If anyone has heard anything about either of them please contact me.!! I can't find out any more and have been stuck here for several years. We would appreciate any help, THANKS! WEST family 1 Descendants of John West Generation No. 1 1. JOHN1 WEST was born 1732 in Tryon County (Later called Lincoln County), North Carolina. He married (1) MRS. JOHN WEST 1757. Notes for JOHN WEST: John West was born in that part of Tryon County which would later be called in 1786, Lincoln County. He married about 1757 and a son was born in 1760, Thomas. No record of other children has been found. John joined a North Carolina regiment for service during the Revolutionary War. He died in 1776 weither in action or from other causes has not bee established. There was a Battle of Moores Creek Bridge near Wilmington, North Carolina in Feb. 1776 and there was a West involved. Could be John. Thomas moved to Rutherford County and married a girl named Elizabeth. Her family name has not been established although it is know she was born in Rutherford County in 1764. Child of JOHN WEST and MRS. WEST is: 2. i. THOMAS2 WEST, b. 1760; d. 1832. Generation No. 2 2. THOMAS2 WEST (JOHN1) was born 1760, and died 1832. He married ELIZABETH WEST in North Carolina in 1781/1782. She was born 1764 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, and died 1840. Notes for THOMAS WEST: William Prentiss West and Mary Elizabeth West. They were a pioneer family who moved from Ducktown, Cherokee County, North Carolina, in carts drawn by oxen with a caravan led by James Burnett. They settled in Archey Valley Township in Van Buren County, Arkansas around 1879. The community was called Liberty at the time. Lutishey Jane West was born Nov. 23, 1864 in Macon County, Tennessee, during the Civil War. Her father William was a volunteer and a private in Company B, 7th Regiment of the Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Union. He enlisted on Sept. 19, 1864 at Athens, Tennessee. After the Civil War ended William moved his family across the state line to Cherokee County, North Carolina to escape the Bushwhackers.
