List, Does anyone on this list have a full copy of the painting of John West that was done by Benjamin West. It is located in the Friends Historical Society, Swarthmore, PA. Or know of a web site where it might be? The historical society does not have it online. Thanks. Lisa

Lisa, Again, I have to apologize for a delay in responding, both here and to your e-mails. I've been working long days and weekends for awhile; hopefully I can come up for air for a little while now. I'm sure I have an image of the painting you're referring to in one of my books on Benjamin (which, by coincidence, I owned before I knew the relationship, because of my interest in the period). Does that help? I was unable to find a copy of that painting on-line, but here's a pretty good image of the other famous painting with John in it...
