My focus is on the Whitlatch family. I posted my query to the West list hoping that someone on that list would have info on Flora Whitlatch from having researched her husband Charles. Of course, I'd like to have all of their data including parents and children (and their descendants) plus dates and places. I was particularly interested in confirming her parents. I have in my database a Flora Whitlatch (no spouse given) whose parents were George Matthew Whitlatch and Rebecca Jane Duncan. But I need confirmation that this is the same Flora Whitlatch who married Charles West. Can you make that connection for me? Now, if you need anything on the Whitlatch family, I can send you a text file with loads of data on them. But I have absolutely nothing on the Wests. Crystal, sorry for being so long. I had a health problem and it slowed me down for a few days. I have bad lungs. I thought I may have had something for you, but don't know for sure. I met Helen Marie West Minor in Aug. of 1981. she filled out a FGS for me, but did not put her grandparents names. She lists her mother as Flora Whitlatch. Her address at that time was 1010 Little (Goose Cr.?) Glendale WV. All that I can confrim is that Charles West and Flora Mae Whitlatch were married and had the children I listed in the report I sent you. I would like to have anything you have concerning her possible grandparents names on the Whitlatch side. She may have been married in WV as I found a number of my west cousins went across the river to Moundsville WV to marry and then came back on the ferry at dilles bottom. Sorry to intrude on this conversation, but I was just wondering, are there any more West with lung problems? I have two grandchildren with CF, My brother, a Charles West, had TB, I have bad lungs and my brother has Asthma. My great grandfather's death certificate shows lung problems as his cause of death and my dad died of pneumonia....just wondering if maybe that particular gene is bad on the West side.
