List manager, Myra, and interested listmembers: I am convinced that your John William WEST [Sr.] was a son of James of Bladen [Bladen Co., NC]. There are several reasons I so believe but the primary ones are John's absence from the Bladen census of 1840, the naming patterns of the Bladen/Duplin WEST folks for his children, such as Noel, John, William and Daniel.
