The books were from the Downtown Libraray in Los Angeles at the genealogy/history section of the lib. 4 th floor basement. one was biography's portrais and biographical album of Champaign county Illinois. William m. west, Henry Clay west, 1855 . the other was Cuyahoga county Ohio, same thing biography's Charles P. west, the others are Registry of deeds Dublin, kind of vauge but Tichborn, west, and Precious West ( of ireland) The next ones are the landed Gentry of Ireland. West's formerly of White Park, One more.... a whole 8 pages of some wests from Ireland but many many names under Matthew West of Ederney co.Fermanagh and Harcout St Dublin. Many pages, I would have to xerox and mail these...... Sorry, I wish I had written down the book titles more accurately. I had hoped they would be my family when I zeroxed them.....and I could go back if I needed to (to the Library, I know where I found the info) All were very old books over 50 years old..Yellow pages etc... Jeannine, I had been told that we are of Irish descent when my grandmother, Pirley Andrew (West) Manning used to say we were shanty Irish [what ever that meant]. She had a sort of dark complexion. She was born in Water Valley, Yalobusha Co., MS in 1875. Her parents were James M. & Amanda Jane (Ragsdale) West, he was b. Aug 1818 in either KY or TN, she was b. abt. Oct 1850 in Harris Co., GA.
