Judy, I really don't know if my West's originated in Estill Co. or not. I know very little since family was not talked about. I knew my Grandfather Lindsay West. I also knew his parents are buried in the same graveyard as my Mom. I know his Dad was Elihue, but don't remember his Mother's name. It is hard to find info. when you have nothing to really go on. I have some Male West cousin's, but have no contact with them to try to do a DNA. Thanks Tina

With DNA you really don't get names and dates, do you? You may know only that this West in related in some way, I would think. Yes, it certainly is frustrating when you have little to go on. My biggest regret is that I should have asked more questions when I could have gotten answers from the living. I have a Lindsey Orson West b.1898 to my greatgrandfather, Willard Edward and wife Ethna Lorrance Dunham. Willard was the 3rd child born to my great great grandparents, Ira Allen West and Rosina Gillett. Funny thing about that is everybody in the family called him Ned!
