Hi JoEllen, I also have a Samuel West noted in my history. Son of John West (b 1690-1776) & Susannah Pierson (b. 1697-1756). Samuel West born about 1726/27 in PA. He was my 6 Great Uncle. I have John and Susannah as having 10 children, Joseph (my lne), William, Samuel, Hannah, Mary, Rachel, John, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Hugh. I believe that John must have returned to England after Susannah's death - as he is noted to have died in Oct 1776 in Marlborough, Oxford, England. Susannah died in 1756 in Upper Providence, PA and may be buried in Chester, PA. John's paretns were Thomas (Major) West and Rachel Gilpin and Susannah's parents were Thomas Pierson and Margery Smith. I have additional info on this family if it fits...let me know and good luck!! Thank you Fabel, I guess that Samuel West who died in York Pa could have been from either line. I will have to dig a little more for clues about his origin and get back to you.
