Hi, EW, Your question is not rude at all. We find out how to trace our ancestors by asking, and are so blessed to have kind researchers on the WEST list who generously share the information they have. Can you give us the name of your Revolutionary War ancestor? My John West, bn. abt 1788 in NC was married to Elizabeth Frazier. I have a partial record of his rev. war service. His name was Thomas Frazier. There a several sites where you might find the listing of rev. war soldiers. Try the Family History Center first, also Rootsweb. Hope this helps.
