I may be rude in asking this question but how do you find out they served in the Rev. war? I am also a decendant of a West but it is not him I am asking about. It is my other GGGGrandfather. I have been told he was and have looked and looked and have never been fortunate enough to know how or where to look. Thanks, EW
Some of his descendants may have become a DAR member because of his service to our country. One thing you may do is go to http://www.dar.org On the right side of the web page toward the bottom there is a "Patriot Look-up Service". A group of dedicated DAR members volunteer their time to look-up information for prospective members and others. Virgil White's books are a good source for pensioners and those who served. He does not include everybody, however! Many states have their own published books. kt in Georgia ----- Original Message ----- From: <EWhitehRDW@aol.com> To: <WEST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2006 11:29 PM Subject: Re: [WEST-L] West's - 1792 Madison County, KY tax list > I may be rude in asking this question but how do you find out they served in > the Rev. > war?
