Benjamin West, Sr. was born?, Middlesex County or Sussex County, England. Child of Benjamin West, Sr.: 2. i. Benjamin West (II), Sr. born about 1749. Notes for Benjamin West, Sr.: Notes from Ellen Belle Lilja: Benjamin West, Sr. Father is William West. Benjamin West, Sr. was killed during the Revolutionary War, the battle of Sullivan's Island. Notes for Benjamin West, Sr.: Notes from Barbara West: Benjamin West had stolen away on a clipper ship and came to the new world and was only 13 years old, when they found Benjamin on the ship they made him a cabin boy, and when he got to the new world he jumped ship and ran off to the frontier. He was from a family of 8 children and they were very poor, and later he sent for one of his brothers William, he came from Sussex, England. Benjamin had died in the battle of Sullivan's Island. If he brought anymore over I do not know the letter that I copied said all of this but it faded until you could not read it. Benjamin West, Sr. Father is William Joseph West. Maybe we could make a connection, here. How much information do you have on your Henry West? Do you have any siblings names?
