Hi West Researcher, I would like to mention to you to get the dates of birth, if possible. There are some West in GA. Willis West from Sampson County settled in GA, also. There is family from SC< TN<GA<MS<AR<LA<AL. So the more information you have the better information we can give you. How far back have you gone with your family history? I am West from Sampson County, NC also, so have your family considered the WEST DNA TEST. We have been very successful with finding relatives that we never new. The only info I have on the West ladies is the ages on the 1850 census. Mrs. Lavinia West was 40, Lavinia West was 15, Sally West was 13 and Mary West was 13. I have been unable to find them on another census. Another researcher found a Viney West as head of household in the 1840 Lowndes County Georgia census pg 240. At that time there were 2 boys and three girls. This might be Mrs. Lavinia West as a widow before meeting up with Thompson Harris. The only information I have on these West family members is in the Huxford books, Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia. This is where the info on Mrs. Lavinia West marrying Thompson Harris and Lavinia West marrying his son Hampton Harris. I have my grandfather John Harris, 1874, Georgia - 1937 Jacksonville, Florida and his siblings William and Emma's death certificates. All three died in Jacksonville area. John is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Waycross,Ware County, Georgia. On John's D. C. the info was provided by his sister Emma and names his parents as Lavinia and Hampton Harris. These are the only dates I have for the West ladies. Have been concentrating on the Harris line as my father is quite elderly and wanted to get as much info as possible from him and for him.
