According to many anthropologists & archeologists, the original Native Americans came across from Asia by either walking across through the Bering Straits during the latter part of the ice age when the water level was much lower than it is now, or the newer theory is that they may have actually sailed in boats from Europe/Asia down the West Coast of America and settled the land along the way. This would have been sometime in the last 10,000 - 20,000 years. That is why the Native people in Alaska and the original North American Indians have a decidedly Oriental look to their features, although it does seem to have mellowed out somewhat as time has gone by.
