Ellie, Let me send a bit of inspiraton to you and your family on the DNA testing. I am really amazed at the accuracy of what has come out of it for us. I never doubted DNA, but I was curious to see how it would fall into place for my family line. In the 1850 census there was another West family that my cousin and I felt strongly may be related, but we could never really find anyone who was researching the line. Several years later a descendant from the family in question submitted DNA. At this point we still had not ever had any contact with those descendant and didn't know if we would ever find anyone to come forward. Lucky for us they submitted DNA and we matched and it wasn't until we were contacted by Dennis West that we had another DNA match and it was from that family that we suspected. We have also been matched with three other families! One of those family's is traced back futher than any of the other 4 of us had knowledge of. I would really encourage anyone who have not submitted to this project to do so. You are really missing out on a valuable tool.
