I've had exactly two people in my life spot my (perhaps 1/64th, perhaps twice that) Cherokee ancestry. I have light brown, fine, wavy hair, fair skin and green eyes. Not exactly obvious. One was my high school biology teacher, one was an oral surgeon. The teacher said it was the jaw, the oral surgeon was looking at an x-ray of my jaw at the time (for implants, I don't think he was scrutinizing my teeth. The remark came right after he said that I had "plenty of room").
