Dear Fellow List Members, Perhaps you may be able to help me. My husband's grandmother went by the name of Mary Clare Stanley b. about 1893 in Concordia Parish, LA. I have found her parents listed at different times as (1) W.A. Stanley and Annie Laura West; (2) Newt Stanley and Annie Laura West; (3) Newt Gallop and Annie Laura West; (4) Newt Gallop West and Annie Laura ?. Mary Clare Stanley? West? Gallop? and her sister Corrine were placed in St. Mary's orphanage in Adams Co., MS at a young age (I have sent off for a search of their records and am patiently waiting for their reply <grin>). There was also likely a third sister who died while in residence at St. Mary's from drowning. Mary Clare Stanley? West? Gallop? married (1) ? Bostic, (2) Frank Petta and (3) possibly another man by the name of Girlinghouse. She died in Dallas Co., TX in the 1970s. Her father, whichever one he may have been, supposedly killed a man and was on the run from the law. Her mother was supposed to have died shortly after the birth of the last daughter. Can anyone out there possibly help me out with this tangled web? Candy
