Does anyone know the ancestry of this Peter West? Speculation is that he is descended from Henry West who was cast out of Virginia after Bacon's Rebellion. His daughter married a Cotton whose grandmother wrote an account of Bacon's Rebellion that is published in the Colonial Genealogist. Many of those who participated in that Rebellion were killed. Some think the fact that these people were merely banished was because of high connections in England Could these Wests have been connected to the Wests who governed early Virginia?
