Beverly, My WEST line(at least a branch of it) went from Chester Co PA to Richmond,VA, then on to South Carolina (Gresham and Marion) in the mid to late 1800's. I have a hunch that they may have been preceded by others in the family I have not yet identified. Names that I know of for these WESTS are Thomas H.B.West, Jr ; Wm A. West (probably a Jr.) ; Marshall M. West ; Eugene W. West, Jr. Some oral history says Scotts-Irish - other says Quaker - not mutually exclusive. Does this fit with anything in your line?
