Hello I just started working on my WEST family and joined the WEST-L list yesterday so here's my first question!!! The sketch of my 3G grandfather Charles West STARR in the "Biographical and Genealogical History of Wayne, Fayette, Union and Franklin Counties, Indiana, Volume II" states that Charles West STARR's grandparents were John STARR who "wedded Miss Mary WEST, a cousin of Benjamin WEST, the celebrated painter of Philadelphia..." Mary WEST was the daughter of Charles and Hannah (COOPER) WEST. Does anyone know who Charles WEST's parents were or if he was the brother of John WEST, father of the painter Benjamin WEST?
