I just subscribed yesterday and was a little surprised to see so many messages come through. Looks like there are quite a few Wests out there. Do any of you happen to have a record of some Wests living in IRELAND for the time period between about 1800 and 1850? Seems like I'm up against a brick wall trying to find the township in Ireland where my grandfather WILLIAM HARVEY WESTand his sister ELIZABETH WEST were born in about 1846-1849. Their parents were named BENJAMIN WEST (born somewhere in England) and REBECA HARVEY (born somewhere in Ireland) According to census records, William (and sister) came to US in about 1849 when very small. Can find no record in this country of his parents. Have looked in passenger records, but find nothing. William shows up in Guthrie Oklahoma about 40 years later.
