I want to say a great big thank you to each and every one of you for your support in the closing of our list. The "vote" was almost unanimious to keep the list closed, so we will do so for the time being. Your kind and encouraging words were a great pick-me-up. The concensus is that if anyone is interested in researching our surname, they can join the list. I think most of the surname lists are now closed. We were bombarded with spam today, and because we have a wonderful spam detective and a closed list, we were spared. Now, for something a little more lighthearted. Most of us are so busy just now getting ready for the holidays we won't have time for serious research. I thought that maybe we could share a little during this season, and it really doesn't stray too much from genealogy. I know each family has some holiday traditions that have roots in past decades. Perhaps it is an anecdote that is told at each gathering, a favorite receipe, or any other holiday traditions. Type HOLIDAY TRADITION in the subject line so that anyone who is not interested can just hit the delete button. Who knows, we might find some similar traditions that would tie our families together.
