I am looking for more information on John WEST who was born in 1760 in Huntington, LI, NY. During the Revolutionary War John was enlisted in NY and then moved to Vermont and also enlisted in Vermont. He was listed on 1790 census in Sandgate, Bennington, Vt. Then about 1804 he moved to Cayuga Co., NY and moved again to Marcellus, Ononodaga Co., NY where he lived for 23 years. I assumed he was the father of Amerillus and Benjamin. Amerillus married Stephen SHERWOOD and had several children. Harlow S. Sherwood was born in 1822 in Marcellus, NY (my direct ancestor). I have been trying to find out where John was living in 1800. Thank you for your time if you have information on John West and his family. DEE
