My gr-gr grandfather was John WEST. He married Lavina (Vina) MYERS. Their children were born in Hawkins CO, TN. There is a John WEST Sr. mentioned in the Civil District 14 Taxpayers list of 1836 and also a John WEST in District 15, 1836. Also mentioned in Dist. 15 are the EVERHEARTS (EVERHARTS) and that is the family my grandfather George Washington WEST married into in 1894. John and Vina had James born Sept. 1836 and he had George. They had several other children too. Any way of proving which is my John or if either one is? I can't find where John came from and no marriage license was found in TN for him and Vina.
