I found Penny's John WEST from Ireland posted Jan. 20th very interesting. My John WEST was said to have be born on a ship coming over from Ireland. This would have been about 1812. I have not been able so far to find a ship that lists WESTS with an infant. I can't find where John came from if this story is not true. I believe they were in Hawkins County TN by 1836 when James, my great grandfather was born. Any suggestions?? Thanks for any help you can give me.
