    1. [WEST-L] just a small request regarding subject lines
    2. i was just wondering if it would be possible for us all to be slightly more descriptive in our subject lines. I am subscribed to about 10 lists, as are many others, and, sometimes many of us send the same messages to many lists, or different messages under the same subject. if you see 5 messages with the same nondescript subject (ie. Most wanted (surname) or my brick wall, or my elusive (surname) etc.) not only is it tough to figure out which ones you may have already read, you also need to go through every piece of email (I myself receive approx. 60-80 emails a day) to figure out if you can help or if it has value for you, whereas if the name or precise info is included directly in the subject line, you can tell immediately if you recognize the name, and decide if it seems useful enough to bother opening. ( I know we would like everyone to read our queries regardless of the subject, but i know that the world doesnt work that way - i'm sure many of my queries have been deleted without a second thought - it comes with the territory.) I'm not trying to offend anyone, (although i dont think there is anything here to get offended by - but you never know...) i just thought i'd put this in writing, and see what happens. thanks, christopher west kitsuno@aol.com
