Higginson may have bought the copyright and then renewed it. Don't assume the copyright has expired simply because of the copyright age. Walt Disney Co, just renewed the copyright on Mickey Mouse because they didn't want the likeness to fall into the public domain where idiots {my opinion} could use the likeness in very inappropriate ways. BTW, I have a Higginson copy of Brock's book. Sometimes it is offered on sale in Everton's. I got the hardback version for about $40 last year. Suggest looking in Everton's before you place an order.
