Well my family started in Greene Co. PA with William West and Elizabeth Buchanan West. My GGGG Grandfather Thomas West was born there in 1818 and I know he married in Belmont Co. and later moved to Monroe Co., Ohio. William also came to Monroe County eventually too. I wonder if Thomas West might be a brother or maybe a cousin to your John Otho West. I wish I had more information, but I am afraid I don't.
