Dear West Researchers, I am seeking information on the ancestry and descendants of John West of Louisa County, Virginia. The extent of my knowledge pertaining to this family is as follows: JOHN WEST b. Abt. 1700 in Virginia m. ??? (John penned his will in 1742 in either Hanover or Louisa County.) Children of John West: i. AGNES WEST b. 1720's in Virginia, possibly King William County or Hanover/ Louisa County, Virginia. ii. ROBERT WEST b. 1720's in either King William County or Hanover/Louisa County, Virginia. iii. JOHN WEST b. 1720's in either King William County or Hanover/Louisa County, Virginia. iv. SUSANNA WEST b. 1726 in either King William County or Hanover/Louisa County, Virginia. m. WILLIAM PACE v. WILLIAM WEST b. 1720's in either King William County or Hanover/Louisa County, Virginia. * I believe that either William or the John above are plausible fathers of my ancestor, Amos West, who was born 1766 in Louisa County, Virginia. Amos' elder brother William West, is also rumored to have been born there. This missing link, thanks to Kenneth Barker, is perhaps the best lead to Amos' parentage I have received in quite some time. (Agnes, Susannah, William, and John are the primary given names in my particular family.) vi. UNITY WEST b. 1728 in King William County, Virginia d. 1794 in Louisa County, Virginia m. ROWLAND GOOCH.
