Dear Virginia, Would like to hear what you have on WEST's from your side. I am a WEST descendant through my grandmother, Pirley Andrew WEST-MANNING. Her parents were James & Amanda Jane (RAGSDALE) WEST. Gramma was born 22 Sep 1875 in Water Valley, Yalobusha Co., MS and resided in Byhalia, Marshall Co., MS until she married Mr. Manning in 1898 and three of their children,sons, plus twin girls there and they moved to Memphis, Shelby Co., TN in 1903 and had three more sons and then traveled across the country to somewhere in ID or WA and then my mother was born 21 Dec 1917 in Yakima, Yakima Co., WA. I had an Uncle James WEST that was living in the Memphis area at the time of an Aunt died in MS in 1956. The Aunt that died was my Great Aunt Ada (WEST) PREHER. Where are your WEST families from?
