    3. It is not up to me at all, and Sandra has said she can't do it without the agreement from her cousin. I think we need to leave it up to Sandra now. Karon ----- Original Message ----- From: Jinny Angelis To: WEST-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, April 30, 2006 12:38 AM Subject: Re: [WEST-L] Re:Search for a Rootsweb home for the West Document Rootsweb does not have a place to put this unless we get some free space. It sounds like Deloris's offer would help us on Monday... So, Deloris, Sandra, & Karon --- do we have Deloris load the document up there and send out the address to the list? Deloris, do you have a copy of the document? If you want to put it out in multiple pieces, I have the 6 documents that I have been sending to those caught in the ISP situation. What about coming up with a standard citation for the source of this? Sandra, can you do that? I think you said you had a cousin or something who should get credit also. I think this is going to get me going and make my own free pages also. I keep putting it off. I have several pictures that might be of interest to a few people now or in the future. I'd like to get them out where others could see them. My goal for 2006! I would describe it as one of the book outputs from a genealogy program PLUS detailed analysis about one family line of interest with all the assumptions taken and reasons for these assumptions. Also includes snips from newspapers. I agree freepages is the likely place for something like this. I would think that a "list freepage" and then the associated last name would be useful for all of the lists to place similar types of documents as they come up. I know I have seen documents exchanged on other lists. Also, I think there was some info earlier on the West list related to the De laWare discussions and Francis West not being listed as a "Sir"... If you were "ready" to put your own info on the freepages this is a good example I think of the type of thing you would include. However, sometimes people are not ready to make that step and just want to share a something. I think other lists must have been through this before. I'll let the list know what I find out. 2. Ellie, I will send you a message off list, but for others who may have the same question, there is some basic information about the process on the 'FAQ' page of our web site at: http://web.utk.edu/~corn/westdna/west2.htm I need to make an adjustment to the cost of the 25 marker test, but the other information has not changed. 1. WEST DNA Project is worth it....
    2. Mary Hill
    3. Ellie, Let me send a bit of inspiraton to you and your family on the DNA testing. I am really amazed at the accuracy of what has come out of it for us. I never doubted DNA, but I was curious to see how it would fall into place for my family line. In the 1850 census there was another West family that my cousin and I felt strongly may be related, but we could never really find anyone who was researching the line. Several years later a descendant from the family in question submitted DNA. At this point we still had not ever had any contact with those descendant and didn't know if we would ever find anyone to come forward. Lucky for us they submitted DNA and we matched and it wasn't until we were contacted by Dennis West that we had another DNA match and it was from that family that we suspected. We have also been matched with three other families! One of those family's is traced back futher than any of the other 4 of us had knowledge of. I would really encourage anyone who have not submitted to this project to do so. You are really missing out on a valuable tool.
