    3. About 2 a.m. this morning I sent out the following e-mail and someone was nice enough to point out I made a mistake on my Web Address in my signature line. I have corrected it, sorry for any inconvenience: In addition to the West Family Genealogy web site I am the keeper of the GenWeb Georgetown, MA Genealogy Project web site which is in Essex County, MA. Recently we set up a Submission Page for Wills for descendants of Essex County. The response has been tremendous and in just over a week we have sixty-six wills of Essex County Descendants online, available to genealogy researchers all over the world. I am interested in accomplishing the same for Wills of WEST descendants and have set up a WEST Wills page on the West Family Genealogy web site with a sample will format and instructions on how to submit them. The power of the internet for genealogy research is beyond belief. If all you WEST Family ancestors will support this endeavor new windows will open for all WEST Family researchers. 3. Hi Clay L. Brown: Several years ago a painting done by the renowned Benjamin WEST was on display at the MD Historical Society in Baltimore, MD. There was sent to me a very good, concise genealogy chart of Benjamin WEST, the artist. While I can not recall particulars, I do entertain the notion the immediate family of Benjamin was given. Perhaps a query to the MD Historical Society might provide answer to your question? I realize the above is not a good answer to your question, but it is one area to explore. 3. Hello I just started working on my WEST family and joined the WEST-L list yesterday so here's my first question!!! The sketch of my 3G grandfather Charles West STARR in the "Biographical and Genealogical History of Wayne, Fayette, Union and Franklin Counties, Indiana, Volume II" states that Charles West STARR's grandparents were John STARR who "wedded Miss Mary WEST, a cousin of Benjamin WEST, the celebrated painter of Philadelphia..." Mary WEST was the daughter of Charles and Hannah (COOPER) WEST. Does anyone know who Charles WEST's parents were or if he was the brother of John WEST, father of the painter Benjamin WEST? Thanx, Clay L. BROWN

He was Gov from May 1635 to Jan 1637 and in the latter year was sent to England (along with Matthews and Utie and Peirce who had gone over a year before) to stand trial for their share in Harvey's deposition; but nothing appears to have come of it. On August 27 1640 the King wrote to the Governor of Virginia directing him to send over West Matthews Peirce and Menefie to answer to an information in the Star Chamber.
