Seeking information regarding Alderson West who married Francis E. Wilie in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tenn. 25 Jun 1840. He served in the Tenn Confererate Army in Civil War. They had several children of which I know a few: Mary A.E., Francis, William Berry, Sarah P., Parthena, and James Edward (my gggrandfather). They later moved to Texas as I found them in Mitchell County on 1890 census. Any info on Wests or Wilie's would be very much appreciated. Jamie Gregg Smith

Hi Truman, I have a Cornelius West, b. 1858 in MS, son of Richard West, b. 1818 in SC. Cornelius is one of nine children to Richard and Harriet unknown. I have no parent or sibling information on Richard. My wife descends from Levi, a brother of this Cornelius. Cornelius is an unusual name. Could this be a descendant of your Cornelius? Thanks for your time. - Pete PVaughan@warwick.net Truman Adkins wrote: > Seeking family of Cornelius West, born in Virginia (?Pittsylvania County) > circa 1797. Hi, I'm new to this but haven't seen any of my family so far that I can recognize. Would appreciate some help. My family line is: John and Lavina (Vina) MYERS WEST We think Lavina was born abt. 1817 in TN. Their children were: James (my great grandfather) b. Sept. 16, 1836, Amos b. 1837, Lydia b. 1839, John b. 1841, Elizabeth b. 1843, Wm. b. 1846, who served in the Confederate Army, & George b. 1848. These dates may be off. We think James' date is correct. James married Sarah Scarber (Scarbrough or Scarborough??) and she was born and died in TN. Their children were probably born between 1855-1865. They were: John Andrew who died in Dayton, Ohio, Wm., Vina, James Hezekiah who went by the name Hezekiah, Lydia, Florence, Sarah who we think married a GARNER, and George Washington WEST, my grandfather who married Catherine Elizabeth EVERHART, daughter of Rebecca GRUBB and George EVERHART. James served in the Union Army and died Aug. 19, 1923 in Morristown TN after being hit by a train in Bulls Gap TN on Aug. 17th. My grandparents, George and Elizabeth brought their family to Indiana in 1929. Thanks for any leads you can give me. Phyllis WEST Parsons Respond to: pjwp@juno.com

Seeking family of Cornelius West, born in Virginia (?Pittsylvania County) circa 1797. May have had brothers Thomas, John and Robert West. He married 2 October in Pittsylvania Co., Va. to Rachel Lonarde (Leonard). Lived in Pittsylvania and Henry Counties. He died between 1850 and 1860, two children: Elizabeth, 1818-1886 and Thomas, 1821-1862. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Truman Adkins
To J. West: If you have a branch of the Latter Day Saints (LDS) library near you, go there and in their fisch collection, you find the information to help you order in the microfilm called Notes of Enos West. I believe that is where I found the info you are seeking. I know that Polly WEST's name came up in one of those lines. Rosie
Hey there, West list; With a lot of help from my buddy Dale in Boston (brrrrrrrr!) and the graphics furnished to the list by Linda DePuy, I've added the Sir Thomas West portrait and Coat of Arms to my site. Check it out at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/1179 I'm trying to connect my West line to him, if anybody has any help for me, let me know. Tamara

Your site is impressive, tasteful, well-done and has an ability to stir covetousness in another West descendant! How kind of you to cite my name as a resource. Not even nec- essary. I think that is the first time I had been able to make a contribution to the board so am pleased to have done so. Been spending more time on my DuPuy line and connected back to 1033 as the result of rootsweb and other wonderful researchers who are willing to share. What a community! I think I purchased the book advertised on one of the sites. There might be reprints available out there somewhere. If I run into one I will post to the board. Keep up the good work.
