We are looking for some help on the WEST line from COSHOCTON OHIO. We have very little information on this side of our family, here is what we have. My mother Irene Hazel West was B: 1903 in COSHOCTON OHIO, here faher FLOYD WEST B: 1878 we would like to find out where he was born his wife EFFIE WALKER WEST was B: 1878. We will share any and all information. We do not see much if any information on this side of the WEST family form COSHOCTON OHIO. THANKS: JF12039@prodigy.net
I just found my "lost" paternal grandfather - Benjamin James West b. Warren, Rhode Island, Sept. 14, 1876 d.?? , His father = James R. West and his mother = Emily West. Anybody have any information on James R. West or Emily or Benjamin's siblings? Thanks to anyone who has any information. Kim (West) Goodman
I am looking for descendants from this brother and sister: George West, b. December 26, 1894 & Lisabelle West b. January 24, 1896 Apparently they are children of Albert West, b. about 1874 in Pike County, KY, d. 1903 married to Mary "Polly" Canady b. 1894, d. 1904. Other children were: Naomi (Oma) West b. 1894 m. Cleve Toler Alfie West, b. 1902 married Fred Wilson Clema West ?? Bernette Harvey - either half brother or step brother Dosh Canady -either half brother or step brother HERE'S THE FULL SCOOP: This Albert (aka Aulbert) West had purchased a bunch of acreage in WV with the intentions of running a full logging operation. In 1903, he was killed either by a a stacked log rolling over him, or a tree he was cutting falling on him. His wife died in 1904 of 'consumption' - tuberculosis. After both of their deaths, the bank was ready to foreclose on the loan Albert had for the land, so his brothers got together and paid off the bank and they got clear title to the land, which was then passed down to their own children and not to Albert & Mary's children (but that's a whole different story) Anyway, when they both died the children were split up among the family, including my grandfather Floyd West who was raised by Green West, over the years Floyd West only mentioned & apparently knew Oma, Alfie, Clema, as well as this Bernette Harvey and Dosh Canady which always referred to as brothers, but I don't know if these were children that belonged to Mary before marrying Albert or what the relationship was. Floyd West never, never mentioned George & Lisabelle. Is it possible they were a brother and sister my grandpa never knew because of the circumstances that separated the children. I'd really like to get info on these two and possibly talked with their descendants to what the info is on that side.
In genetics the little finger moving in toward the ring finger is dominant, so it's pretty hard to tell where in the branches of the family tree it comes from. You can find some good and "interesting" facts about genetics when you try to find out relationships. It can get really hairy, but it's fun. Now with DNA testing genetics is kind of taking second place to things such as DNA-fingerprinting and just DNA sequencing. Just look at your library for a Biology textbook that has been published in the last few years (up to five years ago I'd say). Hope you can straighten your crooked finger out (grin). Hi All! Each year I do a snailmail update for my former newsletter subscribers. This year the update will be mailed out 1 June 1999. If you would like to have your WEST (only) query, ancestor profile, research, research problem, family recipes, family lore, etc. included in this year's edition, please read the following requirements: 1. Your name and snailmail address must be included on materials e-mailed to me for including in the newsletter. Should you wish to use snailmail only, please contact me for my snailmail address. 2. I will also include your e-mail address in the newsletter unless told not to do so. 3. All materials for publication in the 1 June 1999 update must be in my hands no later than 1 May 1999. Materials arriving 2 May 1999 will be deleted/destroyed, not returned to sender. 4. Since the postage increase I do not know what it will cost to mail each snailmail update this year. When that is determined, I will send an e-mail to the WEST-L with the cost of postage. A complimentary copy will be furnished if you provide me with a SASE having exact amount of postage required for me to mail update to you. Please note that this will be the medium I use to contact you. I will not snailmail you. 5. Should the size of the newsletter become too large due to number of requests for inclusion in update, I will stop including requests, by returning your e-mail copy with a note of explanation. 6. Those of my former subscribers who are members of WEST-L need do nothing unless you wish to include a new piece of material as outlined above, or if you have a new address. Thank you. Later, Fran Chinquapin@bigfoot.com permanent mail address

My great great grandfather was Parker West. In 1830, there was a Parker West in Muskingum Co Ohio, in the family was one man over 20, under 30. One female over 20 under 30 and three girls under 5. I figure my greatgrandmother was one of those three girls. Here is the information I have on the West family. Parker West was not found on the 1850 census of Adams County Illinois. I would appreciate any information on this family!!! Descendants of Parker WEST Generation No. 1 1. Parker1 WEST was born Abt. 1800 in VA. He married ? ?. Notes for Parker WEST: Apparently Parker West was born in Virginia, his daughter Frances was born in Ohio, and they moved on to Illinois. This idea comes from Census notations of where these folks were born. In the Elkhorn Valley History, there was a bio on John K Cramer. (The marriage license says May 8, so I believe this 3 was a misprint, or hard to read, and an error.) May 3, 1852, he (John K Cramer) married Frances B. West, daughter of Parker West of Ohio, who had five children: Frances, Ester, Alexander, Lydia and Isaac. Children of Parker WEST and ? ? are: 2 i. Frances B.2 WEST, born Abt. November 14, 1826 in Ohio; died November 27, 1889 in Fremont, Dodge, NE. She married John K. CRAMER May 08, 1852 in Quincy, Adams Co., IL. On 8-8-97 I received a packet of information from Eastern Nebraska Genealogical Society, PO Box 541, Fremont, NE 68026-0541 which included the information she is buried at Ridge Cemetery, she died Nov. 27, 1889, at 63 yr 13 days. They included an obituary which I quote "CRAMER, FRANCES NICKERSON NEWS: Died -- In Nickerson township, Mrs. Frances Cramer, wife of J K Cramer. She was born in Ohio and removed in early life to Adams Co. Ill., where she married Mr. Cramer, and they in 1854, made up a colony from Quincy Ill., for Fontanelle and in 1865 Mr Cramer took his present home under the homestead law. She was the mother of nine children, eight of whom are living. One daughter, Mrs. McBride of Chicago, who was present at the funeral. The funeral services were conducted by J A Garner. A large procession of old settlers and friends accompanied the remains to their resting place upon the farm. Mr. Cramer will deed an acre of land for a cemetery. FWH 5 Dec 1889 1:4 ***** 3 ii. Hi. I'm just starting my search. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the Wests from Tennessee. thanks Jennifer
I have hit a wall... I am looking for any information to Jeptha West. born sometime between 1800-1810. in the Southeast part of the states. He married a lady who went by the name Nellie/Nelly ( Eleanor,Elizabeth etc...) She MAY have been born in TN. in 1806. of this union, their children: ? Jeptha (?Jr.)Oct. 26, 1827 Maybe White county TN. Lewis Mary Newton Isaac Jane Jeptha and Nelly (sp?) moved to TN. from AL. for employment on the Duck river somewhere in the Manchester area. Nelly departed for TN. and Jeptha would follow later. After some time had passed Jeptha still had not left for TN. Nelly went back to AL. to see what was keeping him. Nelly had found that Jeptha left Nelly for another woman and departed to someplace called Stanford/Sanford TX. Information is blurry after this. What I am really hoping for is any Information leading up to the beginning of Jeptha Sr.; I'm not sure they are JR. and Sr.) where and when Jeptha was born/buried would be of great help. Most of Jeptha's children went to TX. soon after to live with him. I am not sure if he had any children with the other lady. Even if you find a dog with the name Jeptha I would be happy to hear from you. Does anyone have a Jeptha around this time? F.Y.I. Jeptha (Jr.)? married Mary Caroline Howard Charlie William Franklin Tom Joseph Peter Robert Martha Francis Isaiah Randy_West@MSN.com Redmond, WA.
