i need more information on the 1840 & 1850 census of spartenburg, sc. my 2x great-grandfather was born there in 1835 name: james edwin west i have a list of the 1850 census i need one of the 1840 census. there two family with a james in it. my records are off a year on the birth, if in fact that one of these james' is who i'm looking for. how can i be sure. maybe either one is him.
