He married Julia Elizabeth CRADDOCK 19 Sept 1900 in Orillia, Ontario Canada. The were the parents of Manley, Clifford, Arden, Mary, John, Kenneth, Harry, Phillip. Looking for info on the parents/family of Esquire WEST, b. 1809 Highland county, Ohio to Wm. & Sarah WEST. Wm. was in the War of 1812 and received a land bounty in Bartholomew County, Indiana (now Camp Atterbury). Squire was in Bartholomew county and was in the Mex.-Am. War. He married Ranah MATHIS (Cherokee) in Bartholomew County in 1848. They lived in Brown County, Indiana and raised a large family, part of which went on to Missouri and Arkansas. Esquire West had a half sister, Lavina (mother was Sarah Hardin) who also was in Brown & Bartholomew Counties and married Wm. Reynolds & Warren Rhude. We suspect that Wm. Farris we learn the following facts regarding Mrs. Burnette West, an aged lady of Excelsior Springs (MO). Miss Burnette Bruer was born in Indiana in 1795 and with her parents moved to Ray County (MO) early in the present century and settled about where Hardin now stands. While in Ray county she was married to David West, one of the early pioneers of Northwest Missouri. The exact date of the marriage cannot be obtained on account of absence of marriage records prior to 1820, and she must have been married about 1815. Mrs. West is now 98 years old and is as lively and can walk as far in one day as anybody. She wears a No. 2 shoe, weighs abut 100 pounds and measures five feet in height. Aside from her face being wrinkled, showing deep age, one would not judge her so old. . . . Mrs. West was the mother of 14 children, including two sets of twins. Her two oldest sons were lost in the Confederate service. Several of her children are still living in Ray and Clay counties. She has long been a widow and as such, accustomed to doing for herself.
