Please take a minute and let me know if anyone on the list has Texas connections. I posted my information a couple of days ago and it may have gotten buried in the "John West" thread. My great-grandmother was Martha A. West married to Willis "Doc" Marion Rogers. They live in Texas when she died in about 1891. Doc and his children, Mary Magdalene, William Henry and John Burton moved to Oklahoma shortly after Martha's death. I have their original marriage certificate (April 1878) and am guessing that Martha was born around 1860. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Fran

Hi Mary..I have no ideas about any siblings of my James. He raised his family, and farmed in Lafayette Co MO. I know that his farm was next to the Pool farm, that is still in the family today. Henry Clay West married a Pool. I have been there several times, and looked thru the Pool family cemetery. Several of my relatives are buried there. It is just outside Mayview, Mo. The 1850 census shows him with a wife Elizabeth, three children..Henry Clay (my ancestor), (Reverend) Francis M., and Maria. Sam and Joan, I am not sure John Ortho is related to my Wests. However my West line came to America before the Revolution and settled in PA. The two sons Henry and James moved to Jefferson county Ohio in the mid 1790's. Some of Henry's sons moved to Belmont county. With our West families moving in the same locations, maybe there is some relationship such as cousins. Crystal, sorry for being so long. I had a health problem and it slowed me down for a few days. I have bad lungs. I thought I may have had something for you, but don't know for sure. I met Helen Marie West Minor in Aug. of 1981. she filled out a FGS for me, but did not put her grandparents names. She lists her mother as Flora Whitlatch. Her address at that time was 1010 Little (Goose Cr.?) Glendale WV. All that I can confrim is that Charles West and Flora Mae Whitlatch were married and had the children I listed in the report I sent you. I would like to have anything you have concerning her possible grandparents names on the Whitlatch side. She may have been married in WV as I found a number of my west cousins went across the river to Moundsville WV to marry and then came back on the ferry at dilles bottom.
