That is my problem also. My grandfather's children all had only one child and we was all girls. There are four of us living with one from each one of his children. How can we find the WEST lineage on our Branch. I know some of his brothers had some male children but have not been able to locate or find any direct West Male living. Marlene West Perry

Dennis West: Would love to, but as I understand it..you must have a male West alive in your family to verify this...correct? The last known West in my immediate family was Thomas and Sarah West's son, Thomas W. West who lived in CA. He died on 12/28/1951. His daughter Sylvia was born in 1914 - and I have no info on her or her family. However, I do have a picture taken of her in CA - I believe in the 20's - she was very pretty. Now, Jeffrey West and Olinda Smith (Thomas Conley's parents) had at least six boys. Many of the children married - but I don't have any info on their families. Warren West - born 1846 in TN - Isaac Polk West - born 1854 Albien West - born 1856 Appollyon (Pole) West born 1850. He was married to Ruminy Kreis and had at least one son, Appollyon McCoy West. Appollyon Jr married an Agnes Melvina Smith and had three children, Agnes Gertrude, Houston McCoy (b. abt 1923) and James Arthur (b. at. 1924) John T. West - no info Mary West - no info Thomas Conley West was my g-grandfather. He was born in December 1860 or 61 - I believe its the later. He was born in TN and died in Redondo Beach on 25 Oct 1927. If there are any living West males from this side of the family - It would be great to trace the lineage. Take care and thanks! Can you give me a clue, Tina? What WESTs and when? How are you connected to them? There are a number of WESTs with roots in Estill County, but only a relatively few (pun unintended) stayed. Mine were in Boone County, IN, by 1830. Yes indeed! I will be checking out your site again. We have been in touch and are on the same group. I am looking for the Ulster book, the West's of Ballydugan. Do you have any leads on hoe to get copies or xerox's of this book. The book was made in 1906 I beleive and is available only at the big lib in Ireland..... Jeannine
I had another person inquire about a Henry clay but I think it's yours....
perhaps I should post my webpage again since there seems to be an interest in WEST in Ireland. Looks like a connection. send me your e-mail address or mailing address and I will send it which ever way you prefer..(it's two pages in biographical format)..Cool. I'm glad it wasn't wasted.... Jeannine (waiting for your response)
These West's came to America around 1837? I am still looking for the ship manafest. If I find it I will post on the West letter site. My Gt.Gt. Grandfather George was born in Leitrim Ireland with influence in Sligo. I need to get copies of that as well. I will look through the really big West copy I made and see if there are any familiar names..... You say your relative had a dark complextion Have you checked out the Black Irish, I sure did when I first started my research as I met many a brick wall. It was very interesting even if you don't find any connections. I later found out the dark skin was from Russyn and Turkish background around the Ottaman empire in Europe.... Warmest Regards and good searching Jeannine
I'm looking for a Henry West from IL and would very interested in the material! Jeannine, I had been told that we are of Irish descent when my grandmother, Pirley Andrew (West) Manning used to say we were shanty Irish [what ever that meant]. She had a sort of dark complexion. She was born in Water Valley, Yalobusha Co., MS in 1875. Her parents were James M. & Amanda Jane (Ragsdale) West, he was b. Aug 1818 in either KY or TN, she was b. abt. Oct 1850 in Harris Co., GA. West's formerly of White Park, One more.... a whole 8 pages of some wests from Ireland but many many names under Matthew West of Ederney co.Fermanagh and Harcout St Dublin. Many pages, I would have to xerox and mail these...... Sorry, I wish I had written down the book titles more accurately. I had hoped they would be my family when I zeroxed them.....and I could go back if I needed to (to the Library, I know where I found the info) All were very old books over 50 years old..Yellow pages etc... I can make copies I guess. just not hundreds of course.... sincerely Fellow researcher Jeannine West Giesregen ==== WEST Mailing List ==== Become a transcriber for the Census Project. www.us-census.org --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
