Hi Marty, Yes - here was the email that I posted: Would love to, but as I understand it..you must have a male West alive in your family to verify this...correct? The last known West in my immediate family was Thomas and Sarah West's son, Thomas W. West who lived in CA. He died on 12/28/1951. His daughter Sylvia was born in 1914 - and I have no info on her or her family. However, I do have a picture taken of her in CA - I believe in the 20's - she was very pretty. Now, Jeffrey West and Olinda Smith (Thomas Conley's parents) had at least six boys. Many of the children married - but I don't have any info on their families. Warren West - born 1846 in TN - Isaac Polk West - born 1854 Albien West - born 1856 Appollyon (Pole) West born 1850. He was married to Ruminy Kreis and had at least one son, Appollyon McCoy West. Appollyon Jr married an Agnes Melvina Smith and had three children, Agnes Gertrude, Houston McCoy (b. abt 1923) and James Arthur (b. at. 1924) John T. West - no info Mary West - no info Thomas Conley West was my g-grandfather. He was born in December 1860 or 61 - I believe its the later. He was born in TN and died in Redondo Beach on 25 Oct 1927. If there are any living West males from this side of the family - It would be great to trace the lineage. Take care and thanks! Seeking information of anyone that has come across this West, Maria Barbara Magdalena West b. about 1740. She married a Sager(Seager or Segar). Lived in the Lehigh County area of Pennsylvania next Northampton. She probably lived near the Egypt Reformed Church. This was a Pennsylvania Dutch and frontier area. Looking for relationship to George West b. 1754 and attended the Egypt Church. George was a German speaker. My Down Line: George West Daniel West William West Isaac West William West Cliford West William West Barry West in Oregon

Am seeking information on the descendents of George and James WEST. George was a New Orleans police officer, born August 11, 1865. He died June 4, 1924. They are distant cousins and I'm trying to see if there are any living relatives I could contact. Frank in Colorado
Hi Dennis, I hadn't posted my info in awhile and thought it a good forum - and a hope that someone might see it. thanks again for all the hard work! Do you have any information on Felix West, born in 1830 in Breckenridge County, Ky and died in 1815 in Henry County, Missouri. Believe his father William James West. He suppose to have several brothers and sisters, Eli, George Henry Washington and others. He was my husband 's Great- grandfather. Clara Brown

With DNA you really don't get names and dates, do you? You may know only that this West in related in some way, I would think. Yes, it certainly is frustrating when you have little to go on. My biggest regret is that I should have asked more questions when I could have gotten answers from the living. I have a Lindsey Orson West b.1898 to my greatgrandfather, Willard Edward and wife Ethna Lorrance Dunham. Willard was the 3rd child born to my great great grandparents, Ira Allen West and Rosina Gillett. Funny thing about that is everybody in the family called him Ned! Judy, I really don't know if my West's originated in Estill Co. or not. I know very little since family was not talked about. I knew my Grandfather Lindsay West. I also knew his parents are buried in the same graveyard as my Mom. I know his Dad was Elihue, but don't remember his Mother's name. It is hard to find info. when you have nothing to really go on. I have some Male West cousin's, but have no contact with them to try to do a DNA. Thanks Tina
The Estill County Ky. Wests originate in that area or was Kentucky another migration as was their move to Indiana? I am curious since my line of West's descended from Joseph West and wife Joanna Smith from New York and Conn. I have only the line of my Great Grandfather, Ira Allen West and wife Rosina Elizabeth Gillett who left New York and went to Dekalb County Indiana. I find Ira, wife, Rosa, and children in the 1880 Dekalb County census. I know they left Indiana for Kansas in late 1880s and filed claims in 1886 around Cimmarron Ks., They uprooted and took advantage of the govt land in the final opening of the Oklahoma Land run and Cherokee Strip and settled in and around Pond Creek Ok and south central Kansas. I cannot find any information on Joseph West and Joanna Smith or any siblings of Ira Allen West. This I would like to find! All I have is the children descended from Ira and Rosina and their children. I'd love to know more. Thanks, Judy West Helsel Can you give me a clue, Tina? What WESTs and when? How are you connected to them? There are a number of WESTs with roots in Estill County, but only a relatively few (pun unintended) stayed. Mine were in Boone County, IN, by 1830. Chuck, My Grandfather was Lindsay West Sr. b.1914 d.1996. He was married to my Grandmother - Myrtle Henry until she died before I was born then the same year I was born - 1974 he remarried to a Edith Harrison. I know his father was Elihue West. I think Elihue's father was Anderson, but not sure. Have you heard of any of these names. Would you have a connection to this family? What would your connection be? Thanks Tina

Thanks to someone pointing me towards a Warrick county website that had alot of names and dates I was able to make a crucial connection regarding my WEST. My Great-Granny Mary Hesson married her 1st husband on August 8th, 1891 when she was 19 years old. The man was named JOHN WEST, and he was 22 years old. HIS parents were WILLIAM WEST & CATHERINE HALL. THEY were married in Warrick County on March 28, 1844. In addition to my John they had at least 1 Daughter, named Mary B. This is all I know about JOHN. I find it interesting that his parents apparently had children over a 25 year period, and that the 2 above must have been their youngest. You see, after they got hitched, John & Mary had 1 child, named Margaret, born in December 1892. Margaret died in 1938, in Owensboro, KY. as the wife of a Goebbel Jewell. On November 16, 1893, Mary West married her 2nd husband, Elijah M. Skelton, and in the 1900 census they are seperated, with her and Margaret as boarders with her eventual 3rd husband, and Elijah living with his mother. I have no clue, yet, as to the fate of JOHN WEST, his sister, siblings, or parents. Did he die in 1891, 92, or 93, or was there a divorce, and did he go on to marry again, have a new family, and later die a much happier camper than my Mary made him? While he is no relation to ME I am interested in him & his family as regards to the connection with my much married Great-Granny. Another interesting fact is that her 2nd husbands mother was also a HALL (Louisa Jane), and could be related to Catherine, AND my Grandfather could be a product of this 2nd marriage instead of the next one on her list of conquests, like we all believed until now. :-) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
