HELLO, Does anybody have any information on a Joan Dudley married to John Bayntun of Faulston (sometimes spelt Baynton on de Beinton) circa 1400's. She is meant to be the daughter of Sir Richard Dudley and heir to her brother. I have no townland for Joan But have seen her name spelt Joane and Joanne also in an old pedigree which gives little information but from that above. Is Dudley another name for de Audley which in turn is another name for Daundely? Also seeking information on Faulston House, near the parish of Bishopstone. The home of the Bayntuns (Baynton's) from 1300. I understand there is only one off its towers standing today but am seeking articles in books with regard to its history. Does anybody know of any publications. It's a bit difficult when searching on the net as you get different bits of info from the different spellings. However Dudley gives the lesser of the three (so perhaps it is not the same name at all). Phonetically it does not fit in but I was wondering if someone more knowledgable on the subject might enlighten me. Thanks GERRY
