Hello everyone, Does anyone have any information on the following BROOKES family living at Easton Royal near Pewsey, Wiltshire in 1901, please? Alfred W. BROOKES, 50, was a carpenter working on his own account. He was born in Easton Royal. Frances BROOKES (nee PAYNE), his wife, was 38 and born in Temple Cloud, Somerset. She was the sister of my great-grandfather Sydney PAYNE. Children in the household were daughters, Elsie F. BROOKES, 14, Eva M. BROOKES, 10, and son, 9-year-old Francis S. BROOKES. They were all born in Easton Royal. It's likely that the elder children were from Alfred's first marriage as his wife, Frances, was unmarried at the time of the 1881 and 1891 census, when she was a dressmaker living in Lambeth, Surrey with her aunt Sarah Dore DICKASON (nee VEATER).
