I have just received the marriage certificate of my GG Grandfather John White who married Elizabeth Rixton at Wincanton in Nov 1841. 1). The cert is not very clear, I wonder if SKS would know the exact addresses of where they lived at time of marriage. Looks like John lived at ??? Little Canterbury Place, Lambeth Walk Is there a Lambeth Walk in Somerset? (the only one I know is in Lambeth, Surrey) Looks like Elizabeth lived at Charlton?? Musgrove?? Simon, I reckon it's Number 6 Little Canterbury Place, Lambeth Walk. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ suggests there are currently four Lambeth Walks: Clacton on Sea, Liverpool, London, and Stamford in Lincolnshire. There is certainly a Charlton Musgrave in Somerset. If you try Multimap http://www.multimap.com/ you can find Charlton M's location easily. If you have a scan of a hard to read document and you have a picture editing program, (I use paintshop pro) you can often enhance the image's readability. I scan small portions of the text in colour, then convert the image to greyscale. I then convert the image to a negative so the writing is white on black.
