Hi listers There's good news and bad news for Oxfordshire FHS customers on the microfiche and CD front. The good news : two new parish register transcript CDs have now been released, these being Chipping Norton volume 2 and Abingdon volume 1. For details of the parishes included, prices and how to order, please see :- http://www.ofhs.org.uk/CDsales.html The bad news : as the turnover of the society has now reached the legal limit, we have had to register with HM Customs and Excise for Value Added Tax (VAT) purposes. Unfortunately, this means that the prices charged to UK customers for microfiche and CD must rise, with the increase being passed on by the society to HM Treasury. Hence, our prices will rise from 1 April 2003 :- 1. if you want to beat this price rise, please place your microfiche and CD orders immediately. 2. sales to overseas customers (ie those outside of the European Union) are not liable to VAT, hence our "overseas" prices are unaffected.
