    3. Hello everyone, I had quite a few very helpful replies to my 1851 census query about Wroughton and Swindon. To make sure I thank everyone, I am replying on the list. Thank you! I am researching in Wiltshire: BARRETT/HEATH - John, b. abt. 1791 Wroughton m. Elizabeth ??? b. abt. 1784 Lyddiard. (the couple from the census who MAY be my relatives) If they are, their son was John, chr. August 30 1814, Wroughton. Married in 1837 to Sarah BOYD, ill. daughter of Sarah Boyd (BOYD from Melksham. The father was Jacob FERRIS). John and Sarah's children: Mary - about 1839, Wootton Bassett Sarah Ann - about 1844, Wootton Bassett m. Lewin Woodward, had a daughter Emily in 1865 Julia Susan, born 1846 in Wootton Bassett, married William Davies & lived in Wales William, b. abt. 1849, Wootton Bassett George, b. abt. 1854, Wootton Bassett Emily Sabina, b. 1856 Wootton Bassett. Married Walter Sidney Clegg in 1882 in Cardiff, Wales Sometime between 1856 and 1871 the family changed their name from HEATH to BARRETT. I believe they were still HEATH in 1861, as when I was beginning this branch I checked the Wootton Bassett 1861 census and could not find them. However, in 1851 and 1871 they were living at High Street, Wootton Bassett, so it is probable that they were living on the High Street, Wootton B. under the name of Heath in 1861. My ggg grandfather John's christening record is as follows: NAME: John Heath SURNAME: Barrett Parents: John and Elizabeth. Residing at Wroughton, father's profession: soldier.
